Competitive Streak.

My parents are quite competitive and one thing they COMPETE about is SHOPPING.

They like to go shopping of groceries and what-not, and when they return they TRY to prove to each other that they got the " better deal" compared to the other. So they inspect the quality of the food and the price- comparing at whose the better "shopper". As you've guessed we get heaps of double ups where they compete for who bought "the cheaper grapes"
So now i have a fridge full of grapes (Y)

Gosh my parents need some hobbies :/
